Exhibition design: Repurpose for Designers’ Saturday 2025
Repurpose Exhibition design and prioject management for Designers’ Saturday 2025
Designers’ Saturday is Norway’s leading design festival. As the backdrop for four curated exhibitions at Myrens Verksted during the 2025 edition, the Repurpose exhibition design embodies a quiet but powerful idea: materials should not end their life here. They should continue—with new functions, new owners, and new forms.
Developed in collaboration with Bjørn van den Berg, the exhibition architecture presents DS Best Interior, DS Best Talents, DS Collab, and DS Unika. All four exhibitions showcase innovative Nordic design while also demonstrating a new approach to materials, sustainability, and collaboration.
The goal was clear: to use materials with minimal processing, enabling them to return easily to circular use. Panels of Valchromat and Really (made from forestry by-products and recycled textiles), untreated wood from Hamran, and breathable clay boards from Grund were all selected with reuse in mind. Textiles from Kvadrat/Innvik are uncut and loosely hung, allowing them to be rolled back up after use. Nothing is waste—everything is designed for a second life.
Rather than dominating the space, the exhibition design acts as a calm framework that highlights the designers’ work—while quietly telling its own story of sustainability, responsibility, and thoughtful material reuse.
